Where will the cableway start?

The base station will be near the Main Fire Trail, just inside Wellington Park, with access from McRobies Road.

The station uses an existing clearing in the foothills and brings together passenger arrival, ticketing, bike facilities and links to existing walking and riding routes. Its access road connects with McRobies Road, giving visitors a convenient route from the city to the cableway without driving up Pinnacle Road.

MWCC compared nine possible cableway alignments, including approaches from The Springs and the north. The best route sits on the sheltered side of the mountain and importantly, is the only route that allows the top station to be placed below the summit’s natural profile. These features bring the transport, landscape and visitor-access needs together.
