MWCC assessed rail-based options, shuttle buses, all-terrain vehicles and road-based approaches before selecting an aerial tramway.
Our reason is practical: it offers a direct summit connection that does not depend on restricting the existing road, or carving new corridors through bushland up the mountain. Our solution is driven by electricity and pairs the ascending and descending cabins. Its design includes battery storage to capture and reuse regenerative energy. Supplies, water, waste and wastewater would travel by cableway, reducing routine service-vehicle journeys to the summit.
Uniquely, it also means a visitor centre at the summit does not require additional service road access - preserving more of the alpine vegetation.
It also creates a memorable visitor experience capable of supporting a commercial operation, year round, without the need for additional vehicle access, parking or snow clearing at the summit.
